DataPack Manager

[1.5.0] DataPack Manager for reviactyl

Datapack Manager brings the same one-click convenience you'd expect from a plugin/mod manager, but for datapacks — a part of Minecraft that's usually left to manual file uploads and console commands.

Unlike mods and plugins, datapacks aren't tied to a specific server software. They're a core Minecraft feature since 1.13, so this extension works identically on Vanilla, Paper, Spigot, Purpur, Folia, Forge, NeoForge, Fabric, Quilt, and hybrid software — no loader detection needed for the search itself.

What it does:

  • Detects the active world automatically, the same way World Manager does (by reading level-name from server.properties), and installs datapacks into <world>/datapacks/, not the server root.
  • Searches Modrinth directly, using its dedicated datapack project type — plus a safety net that also catches older datapacks that got stuck under the legacy mod project type before Modrinth added a dedicated one, so search results aren't missing years of older content.
  • Filters by your server's software family when it can be detected (Bukkit/Spigot/Paper vs. Forge/Fabric), so datapacks explicitly tagged for the other family don't clutter the list — while untagged datapacks (the vast majority, since datapacks are loader-agnostic) always show.
  • One-click install with a live list of stable versions per project, filtered by your server's detected Minecraft version.
  • Reload without restarting. A single button sends /reload to the console, which applies datapack changes live — something mods and plugins can't do.
  • Manage what's installed: see every datapack currently in the active world's datapacks/ folder (folders and loose .zip files alike, with descriptions read from pack.mcmeta where available), and remove any of them with a type-to-confirm safety step.
  • Self-service admin settings page, using the same mechanism as Mod Manager: an admin can restrict which eggs show the "Datapacks" tab by rewriting the extension's own manifest live, no reinstall needed. Empty by default — the tab shows everywhere until an admin chooses to narrow it down.
  • Custom-styled interface throughout: no native browser <select> or checkbox anywhere, gradient-avatar fallback icons for datapacks without cover art, hover animations on every card, and download counts formatted as 12.5K/3.2M instead of raw numbers.
  • 15 languages out of the box.
